CLI based setup should stay in same page as IntelliJ based setup. They are two flavors of development: IDE based and text editor based.

The CLI based instructions are actually added by a OneDev user who writes OneDev plugin with emacs, and then test with CLI.

It also does not suite into "building from source", as "building from source" means to build OneDev production packages, and in case one needs to test the built package, they should follow OneDev installation guide, instead of running maven CLI.

Understood, this PR can be discarded.

I do advice if you are going to keep an cli guide for emacs/vim, you should include a guide to developing in these like with intellij (but I assume you do not have experience for this)

Yes I don't have experience on that. CLI based setup remains there for whoever want to test OneDev quickly without an IDE.

I will close this pull request.

@robin if I get time over the weekend I will explain my dotfiles for neovim and explain how I use it for java development to help people who want to develop within the terminal (instead of an IDE).

    That will be cool!

Also I just wanted to say, sorry for hoarding a ton of issues and PR's, I actually do not have a ton of time, even though it seems like it, I have just recently been interested in OneDev and thus been spending a lot of time contributing where I can :)

@polarian never need to worry about this, just open issues / pull requests as necessary. It is really encouraging to see there are users trying to involve more with OneDev.

It does feel like I am casually driving a wedge into OneDev and claiming parts of it, seen as I have claimed the community section and also pushing for community instances etc.

After all it is an open project, so its always fun to contribute in some way, but I feel I am contributing too much at the moment.

As a sidenote I had the same complaint from a Arch Linux Administrator to chill out a little with contributions to conversations etc

Interesting to hear about this, 😆
But I see this as young man with energies. 👍
