RenovateStep: Can the Dependency Dashboard issue be disabled? #3171
Alejandro Oton Garcia opened 3 hours ago

We currently run RenovateStep from one central project against all child projects (includeChildProjects: true), nightly, with issueCloseStates: [Closed]. I would like to be able to disable the "Dependency Dashboard" issue that is created in each repository.

I have tried the following:

  • setting dependencyDashboard: false in the step's globalConfig.

  • setting on each repository's renovate.json:

    {
      "extends": ["config:recommended"],
      "ignorePresets": [":dependencyDashboard"],
      "dependencyDashboard": false
    }

Neither stopped the issue from being created or updated.

Here's what we tried, we closed one dashboard issue manually, then ran the Renovate job. The same issue was reopened within about a minute. It was reopened, not recreated, and it kept its original issue number.

  1. Is the dashboard issue meant to be mandatory when using RenovateStep? If so, is that documented anywhere?
  2. If it can be disabled, which setting does that? Renovate's own dependencyDashboard: false and :disableDependencyDashboard are documented to do it.
  3. What is the intended behavior when someone closes the issue manually? Should the step reopen it, and under what conditions?
  4. Is there a supported way to keep the issue closed, or to limit the step to opening pull requests only?

Environment:

  • Install Method: Native installation on a Windows host
  • OneDev Version: 16.8.5
  • Renovate Version: 44.14.10
