Trigger "Tag creation" does not work when pulled mirror repo (OD-2424)

I have set up my repo in OneDev to automatically pull from a Github origin repo with a cron job. This works, but I noticed that when I put a tag on the origin repo, tags are being mirrored correctly, but OneDev won't run jobs that are configured to run for these tags. The jobs do run when tagged directly on the OneDev repo. Is this expected behavior?
