A option in time tracking setting to display estimate/spent time in hours always (OD-2247)

Would it be possible to make 1dev always display estimates and time spend in hours without assuming that 1d = 8h?

I may not have been fully attentive to this matter. Do the changes also apply to custom fields of the type "Working period"?

Yes, it also applies to working period custom field which is not optimal (working period custom field should be working independent of time tracking setting). Nevertheless, custom field of this type will be removed in next patch release to avoid such trouble. Existing working period custom field will be converted to integer field.
