RESTful API for setting issue links (OD-1929)

I am very much helped by the ability to set up parent-child relationships for issues, is it possible to set this up with a RESTful API?

I can't find it in the API reference and would be happy to learn how to do this if it is possible. If not, it would be great if you could tell us how you plan to implement it.
