External Authenticator -> Generic LDAP with anonymous read access (OD-1039)

I would like to setup Generic LDAP external authentication. OneDev demands a "Manager DN" and "Manager Password" to authenticate against LDAP to obtain read access. In my environment there exists anonymous read access though and I don't like to enter credentials here that aren't actually needed.

Is there a workaround to this or can it be improved so that it can be configured?
